Firefly’s has 3 locations; one in Quincy, Marlborough, and then Framingham. The Framingham location was reviewed here. This is a BBQ restaurant to the end featuring fried chicken, shrimp, and even pickles, pulled pork, ribs, and cornbread. You won’t find much here that is low fat but you will find lots of meat offered smoked and with a variety of sauces and extras.
This restaurant has been rated by Phantom Gourmet quite well however when I visited, my service was just ok and my tips were overcooked but they were still juicy with lots of flavor. Others I dined with ordered a sandwich and salad and both were quite plentiful. You definitely won’t leave here hungry.
On Wednesday nights, they feature an “open mic” night and a variety of locals play for a crowd that knows them well. If you have a hankering to show off your talents, you should give it a try. The bar is fairly good sized for the restaurant encompassing a good portion of the overall space and the beers offered on tap are better than average.
Sundays they offer a brunch BBQ menu and they accomodate children with a nice menu for them as well. If you’re in the mood for good BBQ, I’d give Firefly’s a try.
